Winter Crystal Pendant

The Bouvier family’s history in the United States dates to 1815, when Michel Bouvier originally settled in what was then the nation’s capital, Philadelphia. Through a lot of hard work and inspired investing, Michel soon made his fortune – first in furniture, and later in real estate. His son, John Bouvier, increased the fortune on Wall Street in New York, where many Bouviers would leave their mark. Jackie’s grandparents, John V. Bouvier II and his wife Maude Sargeant Bouvier, both lived at the peak of the Bouvier wealth. Maude’s parents, who both came from established Philadelphia families, gave her a full suite of jewelry on her wedding day in May 1889. The set remained with Maude throughout her life, until she willed it to her two grandchildren, Jackie and Lee Bouvier. The set consisted of a necklace pendant, a bracelet, a pair of hanging earrings, a brooch, and possibly 2 dress clips. In early June 1947, Jackie received the jewelry just in time for her debutante ball, where she was voted “Deb of the Year”.
