Celtic Cross

Jackie collected crosses and would eventually have many in her collection. This Celtic cross, was purchased by JFK while in Ireland on June 28, 1963. Because of the controversy surrounding JFK Catholicism (he was America’s first Catholic president), Jackie took pains not to exacerbate the issue with open displays of her faith. Jackie always wore her crosses under her shirts and blouses.
