Ravello Cross

Jackie collected crosses and would eventually have many in her collection. Jackie purchased this cross while visiting her sister in Ravello, Italy in the Spring of 1962. Because of the controversy surrounding JFK Catholicism (he was America’s first Catholic president), Jackie took pains not to exacerbate the issue with open displays of her faith. Jackie always wore her crosses under her shirts and blouses.
